The Osun State Police Command has summoned Senator Francis Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East Senatorial District, over his now-viral comment allegedly directing supporters to “kill” members of the Accord Party. The unions accused the airline of preventing its employees from joining labour unions and failing to remit ticket sales charges owed to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). Sensitive electoral materials have been moved to Osogbo, the Osun State capital, ahead of Saturday’s governorship election scheduled for August 15. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) also said it plans to select ad-hoc election officials from more than 30,000 members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for the poll.
