Representatives of the African Development Bank (AfDB) and National Coordinating Office (NCO) of the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) programme have concluded a two-day supervision mission to the Agro-Industrial Hub (AIH) in Ijaiye, Oyo State, held from 26 to 27 October 2026.
The visit focused on appraisal and reviewing project implementation, identifying potential constraints, and exploring practical strategies to ensure smooth and timely completion of the project deliverables and compliance.
Visit was paid to Agro-industrial Hub, Ijaye to assess the progress on the ongoing construction work.
Speaking during an interview, the State Project Coordinator (SPC), Mr Akinwumi Ajetunmobi, emphasised the importance of identifying implementation challenges, assessing available options, and adopting appropriate solutions to keep the project on schedule.
He explained that effective project delivery depends on an effective supervision, addressing constraints, evaluating possible interventions, and implementing corrective measures to achieve the project’s objectives within the specified timeframe.
The two-day engagement provided an opportunity for the Supervision Mission team and the State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU) to discuss implementation progress, examine challenges, and consider strategies for improving timely project delivery.
The Ijaiye Agro-Industrial Hub is part of broader efforts of the Government to strengthen agro-industrial development, promote agricultural value addition, attract investment, and create economic opportunities through improved infrastructure and agricultural enterprise development.
The supervision mission highlighted the important of institutional collaboration, proactive problem-solving, and sustained stakeholder engagement in advancing the project’s implementation and achieving its intended development deliverables.
