Hon. Bello Afeez Olanrewaju, Councillor representing Lagelu local government Ward 1, has congratulated Alhaja Wulemotu Ibitoye on her elevation and installation as the Iyalode of Olorunda-Abaa by the Ololorunda of Olorunda-Abaa, His Royal Majesty, Oba Samuel Oludele Folarin.
The installation, which took place yesterday, marks a significant milestone in the life of Alhaja Ibitoye and recognises her contributions, leadership qualities, and standing within the community.
In his congratulatory message, Hon. Bello Afeez described the new Iyalode’s elevation as a well-deserved honour, expressing confidence that her wealth of experience, wisdom, and commitment to the welfare of the people would contribute immensely to the growth and development of Olorunda-Abaa.
He noted that the position of Iyalode carries significant cultural and traditional responsibilities, particularly in promoting unity, championing the interests of women, and strengthening the bond between traditional institutions and the people.
Hon. Bello Afeez further commended His Royal Majesty, Oba Samuel Oludele Folarin, the Ololorunda of Olorunda-Abaa, for the recognition and installation, describing the traditional institution as a vital pillar in preserving Yoruba cultural heritage and promoting peace and harmony within the community.
While wishing Alhaja Wulemotu Ibitoye a successful and impactful tenure, the councillor urged her to continue to uphold the values of integrity, humility, inclusiveness, and selfless service that befit her exalted position.
