The Executive Chairman of Oyo West Local Government, Prince Salami Babatunde Akeem (Olukitibi), on Thursday, June 25, 2026, led members of the Local Government Management Team, political office holders, and party stakeholders on an inspection tour of the ongoing asphaltic road and pavement construction along the Ladindin–Ojongbodu–Isheke–Anwaru-l-Islam Road.
The inspection was undertaken to assess the pace and quality of work being executed by the contractor, in line with the Local Government’s commitment to ensuring the timely delivery of durable and impactful infrastructure projects that will improve the living standards of residents.
Speaking during the inspection, Prince Salami expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, for approving and facilitating the execution of the strategic road project through Oyo West Local Government.
According to the Council Chairman, the project further underscores Governor Makinde’s unwavering commitment to infrastructural development, rural transformation, improved road connectivity, and economic growth across Oyo State.
Olukitibi also extended heartfelt appreciation to the distinguished Senator Monsurat Sunmonu for her consistent motherly support, invaluable guidance, and unwavering commitment to the development of Oyo West Local Government. He described the former Senator as a dependable leader whose encouragement and mentorship continue to inspire the administration’s efforts toward delivering quality governance.
The Chairman expressed satisfaction with the level of work completed so far, commending the contractor for maintaining high engineering standards, professionalism, and steady progress on the project. He, however, urged the contractor to sustain the current momentum and ensure the project is delivered within the stipulated timeframe without compromising quality.
Prince Salami reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting policies and projects that enhance the welfare of the people, improve infrastructure, and stimulate socio-economic development across Oyo West Local Government.
Residents of the benefiting communities have continued to express optimism and appreciation for the ongoing infrastructural transformation, describing the project as a significant milestone that will improve transportation, facilitate commercial activities, and boost socio-economic development within the area.
The Ladindin–Ojongbodu–Isheke–Anwaru-l-Islam Road project is among the strategic interventions of the Oyo State Government aimed at expanding road infrastructure and improving accessibility in both urban and rural communities across the state.
