The representative of Lagelu State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly and Lagelu Consensus Candidate, Olajide Akintunde, has declared his total support and unwavering solidarity for the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, following his official declaration to contest for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the alliance of the People’s Democratic Party and Allied People’s Movement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking after the historic declaration made during the PDP/APM Unity Mega Rally held at Mapo Hall, Hon. Akintunde described Governor Makinde’s presidential ambition as a bold and timely step toward repositioning Nigeria for greater progress, unity, and prosperity.
According to Hon. Akintunde, Governor Makinde has demonstrated exceptional leadership, courage, administrative competence, and an uncommon commitment to good governance in Oyo State—qualities he believes make him eminently qualified to lead Nigeria.
“Governor Seyi Makinde has what it takes to become the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. His track record speaks volumes. He is competent, visionary, tested, and trusted. I am fully confident in his capacity and ability to deliver quality leadership for our nation,” Hon. Akintunde stated.
He further urged party faithful, political stakeholders, and Nigerians across all divides to rally behind Makinde’s presidential aspiration, stressing that the governor represents a new generation of purposeful and people-oriented leadership Nigeria urgently needs.
Hon. Akintunde reaffirmed his commitment and that of the people of Lagelu Local Government to stand firmly with Governor Makinde throughout the journey toward the 2027 presidential election.
