The Oyo State Government has declared Monday, October 5, 2026, as a work-free day for all teachers across the state in commemoration of the 2026 World Teachers’ Day / Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Day celebration.
This was contained in a circular issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde.
According to the circular, the gesture is to appreciate teachers for their immense contributions to human capital development and nation-building.
The government congratulated all teachers and urged them to remain dedicated to moulding future leaders.
