The Member representing Lagelu State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Olajide Akintunde (AKT), has extended warm felicitations to the people of Lagelu Local Government and Nigerians across the country as Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary.

In a goodwill message commemorating the historic occasion, Hon. Olajide Akintunde described Nigeria’s 66 years of independence as a journey marked by challenges, sacrifices, achievements and an enduring spirit of resilience among its people.

The lawmaker acknowledged the economic hardship currently being experienced by many households, noting that the rising cost of living and other economic pressures have made daily life increasingly demanding for ordinary Nigerians.

However, AKT urged his constituents and Nigerians at large not to lose hope, stressing that difficult seasons are not permanent and that the strength, patience and resilience of the Nigerian people remain important assets in navigating the present challenges.

He called on the people of Lagelu to continue to support one another, remain peaceful and united, and maintain faith in the possibility of a better and more prosperous Nigeria.

According to him, the true spirit of independence goes beyond celebrating the nation’s historical attainment of self-rule; it also requires citizens to remain committed to building a country where every individual has the opportunity to live with dignity, security and hope.

Hon. Akintunde further reaffirmed his commitment to representing the interests of the people of Lagelu State Constituency and contributing his quota towards initiatives that can improve the welfare and quality of life of his constituents.

He appealed to Nigerians to remain steadfast and resilient in the face of present economic difficulties, while urging leaders at all levels to continue working towards policies and programmes that will ease the burden on citizens and create opportunities for sustainable development.

The lawmaker prayed for continued peace, stability, prosperity and progress across Nigeria, particularly in Lagelu State Constituency and Oyo State.

“As we celebrate 66 years of our independence, let us remember that every difficult season has an end. Let us remain resilient, hopeful and united. Nigeria belongs to all of us, and together, through perseverance, responsible leadership and collective effort, we can build the Nigeria we desire,” AKT said.

Hon. Olajide Akintunde wished the people of Lagelu Local Government and Nigerians at home and abroad a Happy 66th Independence Anniversary, with prayers for better days, greater prosperity and renewed hope for every Nigerian.
