The Legislative Leader of Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Aduragbemi Idogbe, has joined the people of Lagelu and traditional worshippers across Oyo State in celebrating this year’s Isese Day, describing the occasion as an important celebration of Yoruba culture, heritage and identity.
Hon. Idogbe extended his warm greetings to traditional worshippers and the entire people of Lagelu Local Government, urging them to celebrate the occasion peacefully while preserving the rich cultural values and traditions handed down through generations.
The Lagelu Legislative Leader particularly commended the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his consideration and inclusive leadership in recognising the importance of Isese to the Yoruba people and declaring a special public holiday for workers in the state to mark the celebration.
According to Hon. Idogbe, the decision reflects the administration’s respect for cultural diversity, freedom of worship and the preservation of indigenous heritage.
He noted that Isese is not merely a celebration but an opportunity to appreciate the history, customs, values and cultural identity of the Yoruba people, adding that the recognition given to the celebration will further encourage younger generations to understand and preserve their heritage.
“On behalf of the people of Lagelu Local Government, I celebrate with our traditional worshippers on this year’s Isese Day. I commend our amiable Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for giving our people the opportunity to celebrate their cultural heritage by declaring a special holiday for workers.
“This is a demonstration of inclusive governance and respect for our diverse cultural and religious identities. May this year’s celebration bring peace, unity, prosperity and progress to Lagelu, Oyo State and Nigeria,” he said.
Hon. Idogbe further called on traditional worshippers and all residents of Lagelu to use the occasion to promote peace, tolerance and unity, while ensuring that the celebration is conducted responsibly and peacefully.
He prayed for continued peace and development across Lagelu Local Government and Oyo State, while wishing all traditional worshippers a joyful and meaningful Isese Day celebration.
