Nollywood has lost veteran actor Hassan Taiwo, with his daughter, Haleemah Taiwo, announcing his death after the family reportedly struggled to secure hospital care for him.
Haleemah shared the news in an emotional social media post, saying her father had passed away after what she described as difficulties involving different hospitals.
The death comes shortly after the family had appealed for medical assistance for the veteran actor, seeking people who could help him access appropriate treatment.
Haleemah had earlier made an emotional appeal for help, explaining that her father was seriously ill and needed urgent medical attention. The family had appealed primarily for medical assistance rather than financial donations.
In her latest announcement, Haleemah confirmed that her father had died and said he is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren.
The development marks a painful loss for Nollywood and the family of the veteran actor, whose final days had drawn public attention after his daughter’s appeal for assistance.
