The Member representing Lagelu State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Olajide Akintunde, popularly known as AKT, has paid a heartfelt posthumous tribute to his beloved mother, the late Mrs. Oluyemisi Stella Alake Olajide, fondly called “Yemak,” on what would have been her birthday anniversary.
In a statement made available to newsmen, Hon. Akintunde described his late mother as a virtuous, compassionate, and God-fearing woman whose life was dedicated to the service of humanity, the nurturing of her children, and the promotion of moral values within her family and community.
The lawmaker noted that although death has taken her physical presence away, the memories of her sacrifices, love, wisdom, and unwavering support remain indelible in the hearts of all who knew her.
“Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of my dear mother, Mrs. Oluyemisi Stella Alake Olajide, whose teachings, prayers, and exemplary lifestyle continue to guide and inspire me. While I miss her dearly, I take solace in the fact that she lived a fulfilled life and left behind a legacy of kindness, integrity, and selfless service,” AKT stated.
He further expressed gratitude to God for the impactful life his mother lived, saying her influence continues to reflect in the lives of her children and countless others she touched during her lifetime.
Hon. Akintunde urged families to always cherish their loved ones while alive and uphold the virtues of love, unity, humility, and hard work, which his late mother embodied throughout her lifetime.
The remembrance serves as a poignant reminder that though Mrs. Oluyemisi Stella Alake Olajide “Yemak” may no longer be physically present, her values, lessons, and cherished memories continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her in return.
