The leadership of the Accord Party in Oyo State on Monday officially presented the Certificate of Return to the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Kunle Busari, popularly known as “Gudugudu,” following his victory in the recently concluded governorship primary election.
The presentation was made by top executives of the party during an exclusive radio programme anchored by renowned broadcaster, Mayor Isaac Brown, where party leaders and stakeholders reaffirmed their confidence in the candidacy of Hon. Busari ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Speaking during the programme, party officials described the emergence of Gudugudu as a reflection of the will of party members across the state, noting that the primary election was conducted in a transparent and democratic manner.
The presentation of the Certificate of Return officially confirms Hon. Kunle Busari as the Accord Party’s flag bearer for the forthcoming governorship election in Oyo State, following his triumph over other aspirants during the keenly contested primary. Reports from the party indicated that the primary election was conducted across the state with delegates and party members participating in the process.
In his remarks, Hon. Busari expressed gratitude to the leadership and members of the Accord Party for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to justify the trust placed in his candidacy through issue-based campaigns and a commitment to the development of Oyo State.
The event also served as an avenue for party leaders to call for unity among members, urging all stakeholders to rally behind the party’s candidate as preparations begin for the next phase of the electoral process.
