The Forum of 33 Local Government Party Secretaries in Oyo State has declared total support for the emergence of Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi as the preferred candidate of Governor Seyi Makinde, describing the decision as a step in the right direction for the future of the state.
In a joint statement issued after their meeting, the party secretaries commended Governor Makinde for what they described as his visionary leadership and consistent commitment to good governance across Oyo State.
The forum noted that Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi possesses the experience, competence, and political understanding required to sustain the developmental strides already witnessed under the current administration.
According to the group, Governor Makinde’s choice reflects deep consideration for the interests of residents of the state, adding that the endorsement of Adekanmbi has further strengthened confidence among party stakeholders at the grassroots level.
The secretaries stressed that the people of Oyo State deserve continuity in progressive leadership, stating that Hon. Adekanmbi remains a credible and capable figure who can consolidate on the achievements recorded in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic development.
They also urged party members across the 33 local government areas to remain united and committed to the collective vision of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while pledging to mobilize massive support for the party and Governor Makinde’s political direction ahead of future elections.
The forum further appreciated Governor Makinde for maintaining peace and stability within the party in Oyo State, noting that his style of leadership has continued to inspire confidence among loyal party members and the general public.
The party secretaries reaffirmed their loyalty to the PDP leadership in the state and expressed optimism that the emergence of Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi would usher in a new phase of political strength, continuity, and sustainable development for the people of Oyo State.
