
The member representing Lagelu State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Olajide Akintunde, has congratulated workers across Oyo State and residents of Lagelu Local Government on the occasion of the 2026 Workers’ Day celebration and the commencement of a new month, May.
In a statement made available to journalists on Friday, the lawmaker commended the resilience, dedication, and sacrifices of workers in both the public and private sectors, describing them as the backbone of societal growth and economic development.

AKT particularly praised civil servants, teachers, health workers, artisans, traders, and other hardworking Nigerians for their unwavering commitment despite prevailing economic challenges, noting that their contributions remain vital to the progress of Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
The lawmaker also extended warm greetings to the good people of Lagelu Local Government, appreciating them for their continuous support, cooperation, and commitment to peaceful coexistence and community development.

According to him, Workers’ Day serves as a reminder of the importance of diligence, integrity, and patriotism in nation-building, while also providing an opportunity for leaders to appreciate the immense contributions of workers toward sustainable development.
He urged workers not to relent in discharging their duties with dedication and professionalism, assuring them of his continued support for policies and initiatives that would improve their welfare and working conditions.

“As we celebrate Workers’ Day and enter the new month of May, I pray for renewed strength, divine blessings, progress, and prosperity for all our workers and residents of Lagelu Local Government. May this new month bring greater opportunities, peace, and success to every household,” he said.
