In a decisive move to reinforce law and order, security operatives on Thursday conducted a high-profile show of force across strategic communities in Lagelu Local Government Area, even as Executive Chairman Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to sustainable peace and security.
The operation, which saw a heavy deployment of personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, Amotekun Network, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and other sister agencies, traversed major routes and flashpoints within the council area. Residents witnessed patrol vehicles and teams, and tactical units moving in coordinated formation, sending a strong message of zero tolerance for criminality, banditry, and any form of unrest.
Speaking on the development, Chairman Kamorudeen described the show of force as a proactive measure aligned with his administration’s security architecture, which has continued to prioritize the safety of lives and property as a foundation for meaningful development.
“We are leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that Lagelu remains one of the most secure and peaceful local government areas in Oyo State,” Hon. Kamorudeen stated. “This show of force is not just a display of strength; it is a clear demonstration of our resolve to sustain the peace we have collectively built and to deter anyone contemplating any breach of public order.”
The youthful chairman, widely acknowledged as one of the most performing local government leaders in the state, has consistently invested in security infrastructure. His administration has commissioned dedicated security facilities, procured operational vehicles for the Lagelu Security Network, and fostered close collaboration with traditional rulers, community leaders, and security chiefs.
Stakeholders and residents have commended the initiative, noting that the visible presence of security forces has further boosted public confidence and economic activities in the area.
Hon. Kamorudeen has further urged residents to remain vigilant and continue to support security agencies by providing timely and credible intelligence on suspicious activities.
