In a demonstration of grassroots leadership and commitment to the welfare of his people, the Deputy Leader of the Legislative Arm in Lagelu Local Government and Councilor representing Ward 2, Hon. Adesunmbo Babatunde, popularly known as TUNDE GOLD, yesterday carried out the symbolic launch of exercise books for pupils across primary schools in Ward 2.
The event, which also featured the distribution of Ramadan and Easter chickens to ward executives and key stakeholders, was aimed at supporting both educational development and the welfare of party faithful within the ward.
Speaking during the brief ceremony, Hon. Babatunde emphasized the importance of education in building a better future for the younger generation. He noted that the exercise books distributed symbolically would be extended to pupils across all primary schools in Ward 2 in the coming days.
According to him, the initiative is part of his continued efforts to support families within the ward, particularly during the holy seasons of Ramadan and the forthcoming Easter celebration.
“The symbolic launch today is just the beginning. The exercise books will be distributed across all primary schools in Ward 2 to ensure that our pupils are encouraged and supported in their learning,” he stated.
Hon. Babatunde also appreciated party leaders, executives, and stakeholders for their unwavering support and cooperation, which he said continues to strengthen unity and progress within the ward.
The event was attended by notable party leaders and stakeholders including Elder Dolapo Bello; the Lagelu Supervisory Councilor for Works, Hon. Femi Kenfab; Mrs. Jemilat Ishola; local executive council, Mr. Dabira Moses; Hon. Waheed Alao; and other ward executives led by the Ward Chairman, Mr. Kabiru Bellau.
Stakeholders present commended Hon. Tunde Gold for his thoughtful gesture, describing the initiative as a reflection of responsive leadership and dedication to grassroots development.
They expressed optimism that such interventions would further strengthen educational support for pupils while also fostering unity and welfare among party members in Ward 2.
The symbolic launch marks another milestone in Hon. Babatunde’s continuous efforts to promote community development and support for constituents at the grassroots level.
