Councillors across Lagelu Local Government held their inaugural sitting last week Thursday, which was presided by Leader of the house, Hon Idogbe Aduragbemi Emmanuel.

The councillors engaged in a fruitful sitting which gave birth to their oversight function conducted on 2 LCDAs in Lagelu local government.
The leader in his statement said; “We had our Inaugural sitting, where we explore ways to conduct effective oversight visits, gather information, and to engage with stakeholders to ensure accountability and transparency in the activities and operations of the LCDAs.
“I urged and encouraged my colleagues to consentaneously work together and engage on oversight function to enhancement and effective smooth running of governance at our local council development areas for the betterment of our people.
“Base on the resolution of our sitting, we had an oversight visit to Lagelu West and North LCDAs, we meet with the HLAs, Ministry Directors, senior staffs and the critical officers across ministries- where issues, recommendation and request were been discussed”. he concluded
He stressed that the meeting with the two LCDAs officials also brings about the deliberation of the ongoing project to establish a new secretariat for the LCDA, which has already commenced with the foundation laying ceremony at the LCDA west but nothing has been done on the 47 acres of land acquired of the Lagelu North.
The councillors were received by the Head of Local Administrator of each LCDAs; Mrs C.B Ojo & Mrs Akinrinde Funmilola of North and West respectively and other senior officers in the LCDAs.
