Statement by the Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen in Commemoration of International Youth Day
Today, as we gather to celebrate Youth Day, we are reminded of the pivotal role that young people play in shaping our society. This year’s commemoration comes at a time of great challenge for our nation. The voices of our youth, echoing through the streets in protest against bad governance, are a testament to their courage and their commitment to a better future.
The activism and dedication from young people— to demanding accountability and reform reflects a deep-seated desire for positive change. It is a reminder that the quest for a just and equitable society must be driven by the collective will of its people, and our young citizens are at the forefront of this movement.
On this international youth day, we honor the resilience and passion of every young persons in Lagelu local government and beyond. I want to reaffirm that our administration is committed to providing and mobilizing young people for opportunities in leadership, education, sports and entrepreneurship. In addition, we will always ensure that every one of our programmes is either decidedly youth focused, or comes with an unmistakable youth content.
I hope we use this day to celebrate our achievements and renew our collective resolve. Together, we can transform our challenges into opportunities and forge a path toward a brighter future. Your determination is our inspiration, and together, we will overcome the hurdles before us.
