All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has announced its withdrawal from the forthcoming Local Government Election scheduled for Saturday.
In a statement released today, APC cited concerns raised by the residents of Oyo State as a key factor in their decision to withdraw from the election, acknowledging the prevailing sentiment of defeat among the electorate. The party expressed regret over the incident involving one of its councilors who was apprehended attempting to tamper with ballot papers earlier this morning.
Throughout the campaign period, the people of Oyo State voiced their rejection of APC, citing economic hardships exacerbated by fuel scarcity and soaring food prices as primary grievances against the party. As a result, they have pledged not to cast their votes in favor of APC in the upcoming election.
APC respects the will of the people and pledges to work towards addressing the concerns raised by the electorate in the future.
